Wow, that's an incredible picture of an incredible place! I would so love to be there and explore! GREAT PHOTO! (is it Carisbrook Castle? If so, I'll put it on my travel list!)
@ Laura: Thnak you! I turned around and saw that view and thought "Wordless Wednesday"!
@ John: Good guess about it being Carisbrook! I love exploring ruins too.
@ Fullet: It was great! We had a load of fun.
@ Mum: No, no decisions required as we explored the whole castle in the end!!
@ JaPRA: Yes! It was Carisbrook Castle!
@ FishHawk: Awww, and I have been to four castles in my time in the UK. I love them!
@ Travelling Rants: Thank you! I found you on Twitter!
@ Kathy: It is medieval. It was built in about 1100 and they kept extending it for about another 500 years.
@ Erin: yes, it is Carisbrook on Isle of Wight and definitely worth a visit.
@ Jen: Thank you! I liked this particular photo too.
@ Ivanhoe: Ha! It was only short though as it went around the castle.
@ The Ancient Digger: It was indeed full of history! Charles I was kept there for over a year in the time leading up to his execution and his daughter died there!
@ Claire: me too!
@ Jayne: Ha! You'd love Isle of Wight then as it is full of open spaces to ride on!
this photo is absolutely gorgeous! xx
