Make a date for next Thursday 9th December for the annual Christmas party at Alfies Antique Market in Marylebone. This incredible antique market has been around since 1976 and now houses over one hundred antiques dealers in an art deco style building in Church Street.
When I used to visit London in the early 1970s, my mum used to take me around to all of the antiques markets. I can clearly remember row after row of little Victorian dresses and petticoats and all of the silverware and trinkets. I’ve always connected antiques and London and I’m sad that I won’t be able to make the Christmas party next week. It looked like quite a ball last year!

I must admit I have never even heard of Alfies until now, and it sounds like it will be a real fun ball. I hate it when good events collide and the sushi, sake and Kirin at another event is gonna win...
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to go, but sadly, I'm in Hampshire on Thursdays. (I was in London today, actually. Brrrr.)
ReplyDeleteI'm truly sorry I cant attend this one... :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm an avid collector of antiques and would love to come. Alas, Florida is just too far from London.
ReplyDeletethat must have been fun. hope you had a blast.
ReplyDeleteIf only London was a skip and a hop away. Would love to have been there and checked out all the stalls.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your patience, and for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
