An Interlude

December is always a crazy time of the year, isn't it? Barely recovered from the chaos of summer, we take a quick glimpse at the turning of the leaves as the world appears to burn around us. And then all of a sudden it burns out and the winds begin to howl, heralding the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. Still we hold on to the possibility that we can achieve something more this year when all of a sudden the days rush by in a series of year-end lunches and impossible deadlines and it's over.

If it sounds like I'm complaining, I'm not. I feel quite exhilarated this year and there is no place else I'd rather be. The only shadow over life right now is that I am writing an exam on Tuesday for a particularly hard paper and despite a remarkably impressive regime of studying morning, noon and night, I'm not feeling very confident. It happens and no matter what the result, this takes me one step towards my goal of becoming an accountant.

The good news is that I am jetting off to South Africa next Saturday and I'll finally have some time to post about gorgeous sunsets, tree-lined streets and a couple of the must-see destinations in Johannesburg. In the meantime, I have arranged a series of fabulous guest posts for you dear readers. I hope that you're all really well and hope that you'll forgive this slight disturbance in regular posting and sharing.
