I have so much to tell you about my busy summer of travelling, and I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps it would be best to start with one of the most beautiful places we discovered.
St George's Bay, on the tiny island of Symi, which lies north-west of Rhodes.
After an incredible day exploring Symi, our boat took a detour into the bay on the way home, and it was a beautifully tranquil end to the day. The bay feels wonderfully remote, with its towering cliffs, clear blue water and near silence.
Despite bringing along our swimming costumes, we opted not to get in the water with the rest of our tour. It seemed very cold and far too deep for me!
Instead, we stayed on the upper deck, gazing across the bay and taking in the magnificent beauty surrounding us. The view in the photo above is now my phone lock screen, which shows just how much I loved it.
We stood transfixed as a boat slowly began to make its way into the bay, watching it get closer against that extraordinary backdrop.
I wish I could bottle up that feeling and somehow pass it on to you, because it was one of those rare moments when everything felt completely calm and lovely.
A perfect end to a perfect day.
