I have so much to tell you about my busy summer of travelling, and I'm not sure where to begin. Perhaps it would be best to start with one of the most beautiful places we discovered.
St George's Bay, on the tiny island of Symi, which lies north-west of Rhodes.
After an incredible day exploring Symi, our boat took a detour into the bay on the way home, and it was a beautifully tranquil end to the day. The bay feels wonderfully remote, with its towering cliffs, clear blue water and near silence.
Despite bringing along our swimming costumes, we opted not to get in the water with the rest of our tour. It seemed very cold and far too deep for me!
Instead, we stayed on the upper deck, gazing across the bay and taking in the magnificent beauty surrounding us. The view in the photo above is now my phone lock screen, which shows just how much I loved it.
We stood transfixed as a boat slowly began to make its way into the bay, watching it get closer against that extraordinary backdrop.
I wish I could bottle up that feeling and somehow pass it on to you, because it was one of those rare moments when everything felt completely calm and lovely.
A perfect end to a perfect day.

St. George's Bay looks like an absolute slice of paradise, and capturing a view so magnificent that it earns a permanent spot on your phone lock screen says it all! There is something truly special about those quiet, breathtaking moments on the upper deck where time just seems to stand still amidst the cliffs and crystal-clear water.

DeleteI can't log on as Millymollymandy for some reason, but it's me! I am envious of your Greek trip and hope you will be writing more about it as I LOVE Greece. Love your photos and it looks absolutely gorgeous in that bay.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Greece now too. We loved this trip so much that we immediately booked again for next year
DeleteRhodes is dreamy, as is St George's Bay. But how do you maintain peace, serenity and silence once you go home. Taking a serene photo and place it above your bed for ever?
ReplyDeleteHa! Its funny you should say that, as I have a framed print of this photo hanging over my desk at work: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOs9EY6Zb0XRLqvhRJhtFHNXad6dyKtn4s93mMPpIFxLaBUfHuez_XwGYv0Yaji4OJDPF6vs8Yg80AUonhaisNPKHSW1BTOwn7Anx5jwEiK4bdURexNfexW5eL24y98kvAPrtGDyVcFno/
DeleteBut yeah, finding serenity in a busy world is a never ending task. I usually find it in exercise :)
